11. Gem Tycoon Event

Every set amount of gems spent during the event determines the quality of rewards. All prizes received are sent by mail.

Gem Tycoon Events are another one of the top events considering that it provides 31 World Fruits, 3 Magic Books, 50 Orange Statue Shards, and 100 Eternal Essences. Those are key items in completing both the Fruit Master Event, and performing upgrades for late game players including statues, hero badges, and exchanging 8*+ heroes.

Best Tips for Gem Tycoon Events

To make the most of Gem Tycoon Events it’s best to save 60,000 gems to spend to earn all 6 Tier rewards. The first few tiers barely offer any value besides fruit, so it’s all or nothing during this event. It’s a lot of gems to spend in 1 sitting, so be patience and use them all over the course of the week on the following:

1. Hero Bag Space

• First, max out hero bag space.
• It’s a permanent increase and will help greatly in sorting and holding enough food heroes to fuse heroes during Fusion Events rather than wasting heroes by doing random fusions.

2. Dragon Island Treasures

• Second, buy all of the Dragon Island Treasures except for Red Equipment.
• This is the perfect time to scoop up all the goodies from Dragon Island that hopefully have been saved specifically for this event.

3. Refreshing Pub Tasks

• Third, after doing the Daily Quests everyday Tavern Scrolls begin to pile up.
• This is an excellent time to use them since it costs 10 gems to refresh tasks.
• Refreshing can reward items for other events as well as more gems for spending gems!

4. Grocery Shopping

• Fourth, the Grocery is often a great place to look for Gold Keys, Fiery and regular Wish Crystals, Arena Tickets, and sometimes resources.
• There is a limit on how many of each item can be bought per day, so don’t spend too much on refreshing.

5. Challenge Tablet

• Fifth, the max Gold and Hero Shards Challenges available at the current VIP level should be purchased daily.
• Hero Shards are highly recommended to buy daily to have enough food heroes for Fusion Events, and there’s no such thing as too much Gold.

Mystery Shop

• Finally the Mystery Shop is the last stop to blow the remainder of gems saved up.

Other areas to consider Spending Gems

1. Summoning Heroes
   • For 250 Gems at the Heroes Square.
   • Especially if there is a Summoning Event going on as well.
2. Buying Wishes
   • For 50 Gems from the Wishing Pond, or Arena Tickets (20 Gems) from the Arena.
   • The Grocery and Pub should be the first place to buy these items at a discount, but if there’s an event going on or coming up buying these at full cost is an okay deal.
   • However, wishes are more valueable than arena tickets.

12. Mystery Shop Event

A limited time shop that is always open for the duration of Gem Tycoon Events, and offers a changing variety of in-game items at premium prices.

An elf or goblin in disguise runs the Mystery Shop which frequently appears whenever a Gem Tycoon Event is running. Many of the items available for sale are priced slightly higher than usual since they are offered in bulk.

This should be the last place to spend the remainder of the 60,000 gems for the Gem Tycoon Event. Items in the top 5 slots (especially slot 1 and 3) tend to change every Mystery Shop appearance while the bottom hero shards always remain the same.

Top 5 Mystery Shop Items

In general items shouldn’t be bought from the Mystery Shop unless players have 60,000 gems to spend because items are offered at the highest cost there.

1		World Fruits are the best because they can be used during Fruit Master Events, and provide a good source of 4 to 5 star fodder or powerful heroes during those lucky moments.
2		Mysterious Potions are the next best since they are also used for the Hero Replacement Event. After summoning or fusing heroes potions come in handy to change fodder heroes into stronger heroes.
3		Miracle Syrup are the third choice because they can be used to summon any specific hero using 50 of them. They come in handy for Receiving Hero Events to fuse a new 10 Star hero, or create a copy of any hero used for Hero Tier Upgrades or Leader Evolution(s).
4		Random 5 Star Hero Shards come in fourth due to the fact that they are cheaper than buying the specific Hero Shards (4,000 Gems vs. 5,000 Gems). However, before buying the shards check Dragon Island stages because treasures at specific stages offer 50 5 star shards for 2,000 Gems.
5		Specific Camp 5 Star Hero Shards are last, but not least allowing the summoning of a natural 5 star camp hero with 50 pieces. These are also useful for Receiving Hero Events to fuse a new 10 Star hero.

3		Miracle Syrup	• A very valuable item that comes third since it can be used to summon any specific hero with 49 syrup and at least 1 hero shard. • 1 Miracle Syrup can be used to replace 1 Hero Shard when Fusing a hero. • Open the bag and tap the puzzle piece icon, then tap on any 5 Star Hero to bring up the Fuse window. • If both the Hero Shards and Miracle Syrup add up to a total of 50, then the hero selected can be summoned by tapping the Fuse button. • Also able to be used in Fusion and Receiving Hero Events.
4		Random 5★ Hero Shards	• Often a good buy because it's cheaper than the specific camp shards and can summon a rare hero. • Also able to be used for Receiving Hero Events.
5		Camp 5★ Hero Shards	• Around the same value as Random 5 Star Hero Shards. • However, they are guaranteed to reward a natural 5 star hero which is often strong. • Also able to be used for Receiving Hero Events.
6		Boss Tickets	• These come in handy to increase ranks in the Shadow Tower leaderboard to earn Gold, Random 5 Star Hero Shards, Mysterious Potions, and World Fruits • Many of the items rewarded can be used in various Events or to upgrade heroes.
7		Blue Obsidian Stone	• 9 Blue Obsidian Stones are needed to upgrade a Red Artifact into an Orange Artifact. • For this reason it's best only to buy them if the exact amount to upgrade a Red Artifact can be bought. • They can often be obtained from Events which also decreases their value.
8		Glory Badges	• The Guild Combat Lab requires a lot of badges and gold to upgrade skills there. • However, since they can be earned from Hall of Expedition and many other game modes their value is decreased making them an optional buy.
9		Common Succints	• Since the release of Leaders and the Succinct Store these items have become much more useful. • It's mainly for refreshing the Succinct Store or evolving 10 star heroes into leaders, which is for high level or late game players. • As a result that makes these more of an optional purchase.
10		Camp Succincts	• This variety of Succincts are rarer than the common succincts which is why they have a higher price tag. • There is no use for these besides evolving 10 star heroes, so high level or late game players can consider purchasing them.
11		Eternal Essences	• Are needed to upgrade an Orange Hero Badge even further to obtain unique skills on a hero. • They are often rewarded from Events or other game modes which is why it's more of an optional choice depending a players progress.
12		Smelting Stones	• Can be used to increase the percent chance to upgrade level 6 or higher equipment by 1% per stone. • Due to the expensive cost it's not worth spending gems on these, especially since the percentage increase is so small. • It's best to save until enough stones can be used to increase the chance of success to 99-100%. • It's not worth the risk to lose tons of resources when higher level equipment upgrades fail.
13		Magic Book	• Also has no use other than to exchange an 8 star hero for a 10 star hero of choice. • It is quite useful since the fodder needed to exchange heroes is significantly less than creating a 10 star hero. • As a result they come in handy to exchange a newly released 10 star hero to obtain great rewards from Receiving Hero Events. • However they are frequently rewarded as the top prize from Events and game modes, so purchasing them with gems isn't recommended.
14		Red Statue Shards	• With the randomness of statues statue shards might be one of the worst buys in the Mystery Shop. • Their gem cost is also very high, and they can be obtained from many Events and other game modes.
15		Fancy Essences	• Are used along with Gold to upgrade or change the stats on Hero Badges. • The sole reason it's not a good idea to buy fancy essences is that they can be obtained for free daily from the Challenge Tablet.
16		Inscriptions	• Both gold and inscriptions are needed to upgrade Hero Statues. • Again similar to the reasons above, they are a mediocre deal since they can easily be obtained from multiple game modes.
17		Talismans	• Last and least are Talismans which are one of the materials required to level up Skill Runes in the Astrolabe. • The Astrolabe in general is a mid to late game feature since it requires sacrificing a huge amount of 5 star heroes. • For that reason alone it's possibly the worst purchase, not including the fact that they can be obtained from Events and other game modes as well.
18		Oblivion Scroll	• Use is very limited which makes it one of the worst buys. • It's only purpose is to reset a row of skills in the Combat Lab to recover all of the Glory Badges used. • It does NOT return any of the gold spent upgrading skills, so be sure to use it only on rows that haven't been upgraded too far. • Also they can be obtained from the Advanced Wishing Pond and Supreme Battle (clearing stage 100 which is repeatable weekly).

Mystery Shop Examples

Below are some examples of the Mystery Shop items that randomly appear each time it’s available. Both an Oblivion Scroll and 2 Magic Books are available as usual, however 2 new items including Blue Obsidian Stones and Eternal Essences were added in Fall 2018.

Mysterious Potions have also returned since the last time they were available in June 2018, but the quantity has decreased. Previously they were sold at 1,000 gems for 30, and now they are selling for the same price for 18. The price was probably to good to be true, or it was offered at that price as an introductory promotion for mysterious potions.

In comparison it’s now 12 potions less (55.55 Gems vs. 33.33 Gems ea. or 22.22 gems more per potion). In total that comes to 180 potions vs. 300 potions (120 potions less) for spending the same 10,000 gems.

Mystery Shop Updates

The version 1.0.0.130 update on April 25, 2019 added 10 new shelves which can be accessed by tapping arrows on the left or right side to move between shelves. Also Succincts as well as Smelting Stones were added as Mystery Shop items.

Note: The latest item added to the Mystery Shop is Miracle Syrup.
